Foods to Enhance Memory
Individuals who would like to enhance their memory may add certain types of nuts. There have been some studies conducted that show the effect of specific nuts that can facilitate brain functions especially to people who are growing a little older. Nuts have vitamin E which is essential in maintaining excellent memory. There are various types of nuts that people can include in their diet but there have not been so much research done about it except for some of the more popular ones.
Walnuts for example may contain lots of Omega3 fatty acid which can be beneficial to people who would like to improve their cognitive abilities. They can also enhance their memory as they age if they include a sufficient amount of Omega3 in their diet through the foods that they eat. Aside from walnuts, there are other foods that may also contain it such as certain kinds of fishes.
Results from various researches also indicate that babies born from mother who had sufficient supply of Omega3 exhibited better cognitive abilities. The brain health of newborns is likewise in better state if they have enough supply of DHA which is a kind of Omega3 fatty acid. Almonds and hazelnuts also contain vitamin E which is essential in keeping the brain functions at its best. People with memory problems may include these nuts in their meals and in their snacks too.
Peanuts on the other hand have been found to contain niacin.
This may also facilitate brain functions and prevent memory decline. People may also lessen their risks of developing mental diseases such as Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s disease. Aside from these popular nuts that have been mentioned, there are still other types or varieties that may be helpful in keeping the brain functioning well. However, there have been only few researches that can be used to back this claim. Nuts such as cashews, chestnuts, pecans and others may still be included in the diet as well.
People have to balance everything especially the various kinds of foods that they eat.
There are also other nutrients found in other types of foods that can enhance memory. People who would like to maintain or to also have to include proper amount of sleep and regular exercises as well. Keeping their bodies healthy and strong will also help them in keeping their brains functioning at its best until they reach their old age.
